Who We Are
Elevation Youth Ensemble is a non profit community performing arts group for kids ages
5-18 serving the Clackamas area just below Portland, Oregon. Our goal is to create a
positive and fun place to sing while bringing our communities fantastic music. We have two
choral sessions each year, Fall and Winter. Each session brings a new theme with
challenging and inspiring choral pieces combined with solos, duets, small ensembles, and
instrumental works. During the Summer, we combine choral and theatrical elements to
present new musicals. Elevation is made up of three choirs: Terra (ages 6-8), Aeris (ages
9-11), and Angelus (ages 12-18).
What We Do
The number one goal of Elevation Youth Ensemble is to serve the community. Each
session we create a new show based on a fun theme. Each choir presents a community
concert. Angelus, our outreach choir, generally sings at 2-3 additional public events as
determined by the Director. Past events have included Portland Memorial Day Waterfront
Celebration and Wilsonville Festival of the Arts.
Why We Are Different
When was the last time you were involved in a choir where you could help choose the
music? Create the sets? Write a dramatic script? That's what makes Elevation different.
Members have input on much of what goes on in putting together the programs. They are
encouraged to utilize their many other talents such as drama, art, dance, planning,
coordinating, etc. in the production of each show.
Musical and personal growth of each member is extremely important in this choir.
Perhaps this is the first choir you have ever been in...you will grow as you learn how to work
with those around you to create a beautiful sound. Have you been in a choir for many years
but never tried singing a solo? Elevation is a comfortable place to branch out and try
something new with the positive support of the director and other members.
Are you an advanced pianist looking to broaden your skills? There are several
opportunities for pianists to accompany the choir or individual singers each session.
The direction the group takes each session is only limited to our imaginations.
